2) play good live. I could concievably play 10 days live this month. I need to play better than I did 2 days ago.


I've played pretty good and made v good $ live this month. However, my online time has been substantially lower than it should be, go figure. I'm pretty pleased with the month thus far, though. Could be a lot worse.

april goals

it's tourney time this month in vegas, so some april goals. I'm feeling pretty good thus far, the time off has helped a bit as far as general disposition goes.

1) play a lot online if I'm not on the strip. I could stand to make back my tax money.

2) play good live. I could concievably play 10 days live this month. I need to play better than I did 2 days ago.

3) play better, period. nice discussion last night kinda reminded me that I don't think about poker nearly enough

4) watch a bunch of cubs games. obvious.

if I were to set some hands goals, let's say 40,000. ~2k-3k on days where I'm not out and about seems reasonable, though I may go back to sngs. I am clearly undecided on that. sngs seem like the plan for random robotic money printing, but I do want to not suck at limit.

long overdue update

sitting in cu right now. I made a lil money on party cruise. I'll post a full report when I'm even more bored, but it's been a blast not having to do anything this month and just more or less taking a full break.

Getting back on the 30th, got some fantasy baseball drafts and then I think a full-on april hands challenge similar to feb's blown one.

home in a few hours. Indy for Big ten tourney fri-sun morn. sun morn fly into ft lauderdale for the paaaaaaaarty cruise!

after that back to chicago for an indeterminate time with potential ncaa games in the horizon.

overdue update

played a lot live. had lots of fun, roughly breakeven all said.

played some online, up a pile of cash in sngs, made $1600 playing the $540 stars million guaranteed by finishing 61st. I lost 2 flips while we were in the 60's.

38 sngs of breakeven, dropped $1800 playing live plo with KT birthday boy. I am so not good it hurts.

HAWT

yeah, played some 5/10 horse at caesar's palace with 2p2ers. lost $250 ish, dropped another $100 at wynn 10/20 o/8, then sat in a delicious 30/60 game. Made $2800 at that, so that ended a damn solid day of poker.

So I played 109 speed sngs. There were maybe 10 from before, all I remember is I was up a couple hundred. Tally after today -

ran good at stud and omaha/8. bought a laptop with the new dell laptop promo.

Then played wynn 15 with lamont jordan, have him move to 60/120, and play 5 handed with him. he played not so good, really weirdly in fact. I ended up +700 and a new high for how high I've played live. Strangely not affected by the stakes. I really didn't have enough on me to buyin but really felt this was too good to pass up.

I just dropped 100bbs at 10/20. looks like I don't get to end the challenge after all.

challenge is somewhat over

I've decided that 8 tabling 5/10 6 is too stressful/high variance to maintain my goal of millions of hands per day. Fullring probably is not, so I'm going to explore between that, sngs, and just maybe 4 tabling 10/20 again on which one I want to do the rest of the month. I also wasn't making nearly enough from the games vs rakeback.

So now my goals are $/hr and making sure I hit my VIP bonuses. Played about 39000 hands of 5/10. I reserve the right to start doing it again tomorrow and hit like 75,000 hands for the month, but I was playing so poorly today which needs to not happen.

I played 0 hands. I played a live mtt, getting second for +890 losing QQ to AQo allin preflop, then made another 100ish playing drunken 1/2 home game plus strip club

It's supposed to be easy

I stopped playing after I was up 150bbs to eat. I come back and play that mess of hands. I really, really, really dislike poker right now. The boundaries of normal variance are really underestimated by everyone that plays. I was looking forward to winning more in one day than the challenge thus far. Also, I'm making about as much from playing as I am from rakeback. Wonderful confidence booster that is.

I should be around 42,800 hands right now to be on pace. I'm at 36747. I may play some more tonight but the tables look bad and I doubt I'm in the proper mental state. Looks like I need to put in either some consistent extra hands for the next week or do a poker bender and fix that pronto.

This one sucked ass. Another 200bb downswing makes me quite unhappy at everything in existence. I kinda snapped when I stopped too, which is not a good play. Pissed Jeff and Rich off good.

Day ten went well, some fun swings but I'll take the trend and results anyday. Made some excellent calls and some bad folds at the end that were kind of perplexing.

Day 8 I took off. The VIP bonus (mine rocks ass, ~2800 points for $205 meaning a free $410 a week plus extras) made the afternoon tables reaaaaaaally crappy. I decided to get good food and prepare for the epic home game that started at 8pm. Everyone got sloshed and good times were had.

Day 9 I woke up rather hungover to blaring phone call and my computer fan trying to dice wires. Fun. Spent most of the day just playing instead.

Day 7

I started the day at Binion's playing the 2pm tourney there. Brendan (CSC), his roomie and I went. Seemed like a decent enough break from regular crap.

I played good, ran bad, FT'ed and we chopped 9 ways. After taking care of the dealers, +$550 to the good.
